The key VC qualities that Great Entrepreneurs look for
I ran this simple question on twitter : “what key qualities do entrepreneurs look for in a VC ?”. Here is what came back from entrepreneurs, most of them established names with hands-on VC experience. Trust was very clearly the top term. The order is my own and attempts to reflect frequency, but there is no doubt that entrepreneurs, first and foremost, seek a trusted relationship with a transparent partner who feels has got their back. I wonder how well we score on what entrepreneurs care most about…
- Trust
- Honesty
- Authenticity
- Integrity
- Transparency
- Consistency, being even keeled, sense of perspective
- Empathy
- Level of engagement, accessibility
- Pragmatism & realism
- Smarts
- Thoughtfulness
- Speed
- Contacts and network
- Experience
- Entrepreneurial experience
- Genuine ability to add value
- Sense of humour
- Vigilance
- Discipline
- Punctuality
- Money
- Prestige
Conclusion: All VC’s should yield to the Goddess of Truth
